Frequently asked
How do I change the tempo quickly? Drag the weight on the pendulum up or down — that is the fastest way. You can also tap − and + (hold either one to repeat), pick a named preset on the Presets tab, or use Tap Tempo on the Session tab.
The pendulum swings but I hear nothing. Check the volume slider on the Presets tab, your device's media volume, and the silent/vibrate switch. If you are connected to Bluetooth headphones, try disconnecting them — some Bluetooth devices add noticeable audio delay.
The click sounds late or uneven. Wired headphones or the phone's speaker give the most accurate timing. Bluetooth introduces latency that no app can remove. Closing heavy apps in the background also helps.
Tempo Finder does not detect anything. It needs microphone permission — allow it when asked, or enable it in Android Settings → Apps → Metronome Plus → Permissions. Music with a clear, steady beat is detected best; very quiet, very reverberant or rubato music may not give a stable reading.
Does the app record me? No. Audio is analysed live on your device to work out the tempo, and is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. See the Privacy Policy.
Does the screen stay on while practising? Yes — the screen is kept awake while the metronome or the game is running, and released when you stop.
Can I use it offline? Yes. The app works fully offline.
Is it really free? Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription, no account.
How do I change the app's language? Open the Session tab and pick a language. The app also follows your device language automatically the first time it runs.
How do I delete my data? See Data Removal.
