These terms govern your use of the Metronome Plus mobile application ("the app"), published by Hugo Software ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to them.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal or professional music practice. You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, or attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer or extract its source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
The app is free
Metronome Plus is provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app at any time.
Microphone features
The Tempo Finder and Rhythm Game use your device's microphone to estimate tempo. Detection accuracy depends on the music, the noise around you and your device's hardware; readings are estimates and are not guaranteed to be correct. Audio is analysed on your device only and is never recorded or transmitted — see the Privacy Policy.
Use the microphone features only where you are permitted to do so, and respect the privacy of the people around you.
Your content
Presets, saved BPM readings and scores you create belong to you and are stored only on your device. We have no copy and cannot restore them if your device is lost, reset, or the app is uninstalled.
Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Timing accuracy depends on your device's audio hardware and operating system.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Health note
If you use the app at high volume through headphones, protect your hearing. Take breaks during long practice sessions.
Google Play
The app is distributed through Google Play and your use is also subject to Google Play's terms. Google is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page with its date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
